New Year, New Opportunity
I know I said I wasn’t going to bother you until February, but I have big news, too big to not share: Applications are open for courts to receive a Judicial Innovation Fellow.
We are accepting applications from court partners to host the inaugural cohort of the Judicial Innovation Fellowship. Each fellow will be placed in the partner court for up to a year, and will have software development, design, data, or cybersecurity experience to apply to a project that betters access to justice by improving a court’s transparency, equity, or efficiency.

These fellows are career professionals. The core of their work will be project-based, and they are advisors to the court in their area of expertise. Unless otherwise negotiated, the fellows’ salary, benefits, and travel are paid for by the JIF program.
The JIF program is a new program, which means courts are also applying to be a co-designer in the program itself. This will be a fluid process, and we’re excited to work with courts to make this program better, together.
To learn more about what we are looking for in court partners and project ideas, please read our Request for Proposals and the Judicial Innovation Fellowship Roadmap, which is our internal plan for running this program. We hosted an information session on January 11, here is the slide deck and the video will be posted to our website when it becomes available.
If you work in or with state, local, territorial, or tribal courts, please share this information with your colleagues. If you have any questions, email email@example.com.
The Justice Tech Download will be back in your inbox in February. Thank you for reading!
